Marietta football to kick off season at Thiel on Saturday
Pioneers look to win season opener for 12th time in 14 tries

Sept. 5, 2008

MARIETTA, Ohio — The 2008 Marietta College football season begins Saturday (Sept. 6), when the Pioneers make the trek to Greenville, Pa., to take on Thiel College. Kickoff with the Tomcats is slated for 1:30 p.m. at Alumni Stadium. The Pioneers will attempt to win their season opener for the eighth time in nine years and give Jeff Filkovski a win in his first game as a collegiate head coach.
