Marietta volleyball to open season Friday with River City Tournament
Pioneers' matches to be broadcast online

MARIETTA, Ohio — The 2008 Marietta College volleyball season will get underway on Friday (Aug. 29) afternoon with the annual River City Tournament inside Ban Johnson Arena.

Bluffton, Grove City (Pa.), Oberlin, Thiel (Pa.) and Wooster will join Marietta in the two-day event. Each team will play two matches on Friday and then two more on Saturday. Saturday's action will be determined by Friday's results.

Action begins on at 3 p.m. when Marietta takes on Oberlin and Wooster battles Grove City. Fans can track the Pioneers' progress via live stats or listen to an audio broadcast by WMRT-FM 88.3.
