Mabry O'Donnell

Dr. O'Donnell is McCoy Professor of Communication at Marietta College. She has been Director of the Basic Communication course since 1977 and Director of Forensics since 1995. She has received every teaching award at Marietta College including the Outstanding Faculty Award (three times), the McCoy Professorship, the Harness Fellowship (twice), and the Outstanding Faculty in Continuing Education. She has also received the Ohio Forensics Association Educator of the Year award and two Pi Kappa Delta Awards—E.R. Nichols and John Shields. At Marietta she also has been awarded the Douglas Putnam Faculty Service Award and the Faculty Advising Award. Ohio Magazine named her one of Ohio's top educators in December 2003. She has been a facilitator and consultant for American Cyanamid, Cleveland Area Board of Realtors, GE Plastics, and Thermo-Forma.
Her many professional and civic activities include the National Communication Association, Ohio Academy of History, Ohio Forensic Association, and the Outer Banks Lighthouse Society. Dr. O'Donnell is a lifetime member of Pi Kappa Delta (Forensics Honorary), Omicron Delta Kappa (National Leadership Honor Society), Alpha Epsilon Rho (National Society for Radio and Television), and Phi Alpha Theta (National Honor Society in History). Her research interests include communication pedagogy, historical and women's communication, public address, and forensics.

Suzanne Walker

Dr. Walker's two research interests are communication apprehension and the role of empathy in communication. She teaches a variety of courses, including Basic Public Speaking, Fundamentals of Oral Interpretation, Persuasion, Integrated Marketing Communication, Parliamentary Procedure, etc.
Outside of the College, she is very active in community theatre both acting and directing with the Mid-Ohio Valley Players and the Showboat Becky Thatcher. She also occasionally consults with area organizations concerning meeting and presentation skills.

Liane Gray-Starner

Gray-Starner is the president of Gray Star Communication. Through Gray Star Communication she has worked with a variety of clients including, Saab Cars USA, Saab Opel Sweden, and Door Training of Singapore. Liane consults with a number of organizations including Washington State Community College, the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Ohio League of Bankers.

Professor Carusi recently completed her dissertation in Communication Studies at Ohio University. Her research centers on research and interpersonal communication, specifically, the stories we tell about family and loss. She currently teaches courses in The Fundamentals of Oral Communication, Interpersonal Communication, and Family Communication. When she finds time to travel, she often can be found in her home state of New Jersey.
