Lil' Sibs Weekend: Happy Thoughts

Visit The Gathering Place for a unique Friday Night Fever program sponsored by the College Union Board (CUB) as part of this year's Lil' Sibs Weekend celebration. There will be a Peter Pan costume contest, food fight, finger painting, Peter Pan trivia contest and more. As with all Friday Night Fever programs, FREE food and slushies will be provided for all in attendance!

Starring Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman and Julia Roberts, this unique version of the Peter Pan story is a must see for all fans! Peter Pan grows up to become a lawyer and marries Wendy's granddaughter, Moira. Captain Hook kidnaps his children so Peter returns to Never Land with Tinkerbell. With the help of her and the Lost Boys, he must remember how to be Peter Pan again in order to save his children by battling with Captain Hook once again.
Lil' Sibs Weekend: Sprinkle a Little Fairy Dust & Fly Away With Us

Join the College Union Board (CUB) at this year's Peter Pan themed Lil' Sibs Weekend. Our Family Entertainment chair has put together a weekend full of exciting events for MC students and their lil' sibs to enjoy. From a food fight and finger painting at Friday Night Fever and a Saturday brunch in honor of National Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day, you will not want to grow up after this annual weekend celebration!

Special Event: Murder Mystery Party
Saturday, October 6th

Come take part in a fun game of "Who Dunnit" by attending our very first Murder Mystery Party. Written and created by the College Union Board (CUB) Cinema Chair, this original story will be performed by the other CUB Board members. Witness a murder, then become a detective to determine the murderer and be handsomely rewarded!

Dodge. Duck. Dip. Dive. And dodge. You will need to utilize these five D's of dodgeball to win in this tournament! Form your team and get ready to play.

Join the College Union Board (CUB) for a fun-filled day at "America's Roller Coast." Purchase a discounted student ticket so you can an entire Saturday enjoying the various rides, including the park's newest attraction The Maverick located in Frontier Town. Don't forget about the yummy amusement park food or prizes you can win by playing a game. Even more, it is a Halloweekend at Cedar Point. You don't want to miss out on this fun-filled day trip!

Family Weekend: The Big Easy in a Small City

Invite your family to join you for a weekend in Marietta full of fun activities as you enjoy "The Big Easy in a Small City." This weekend is all about bringing that cajun flavor to our very own Rvier City bayou. Come enjoy some good food, jazzy music and southern-style fun. Excursion: The Wilds
Saturday, September 15th

The Wilds is a private, non-profit conservation center located on nearly 10,000 acres of reclaimed mine land in rural southeastern Ohio. This conservation center allows you to get up close and personal with the animals. Vans will depart from Hermann Fine Arts Center parking lot at 9 a.m. and will return by 5 p.m. at the latest that same day. Keep a look out for a date when tickets will go on sale!

Join the CUB Board members for a lunch time chat where we will explain the purpose of each committee. You will then have the opportunity to ask questions and sign up for as many committees as you would like. Food and drink will be provided during the meeting.

Take turns with your partner as you try to sink a bean bag in the platform hole. Will you reach 21 before the opposing pair does? Come find out in this fun, outdoor tournament.

Returning to the Marietta College campus for the third time, you don't want to miss this four-man a capella group in concert. Their caricatures, temporary and henna tattoos as well as name creations were such a hit at last year's Welcome Back Bash that we just had to bring them back again!

It's like Opening Day at the ballpark! Spend your afternoon on The Mall browsing the various tables to talk to representatives from campus organizations, academic departments, local churches and more. And don't forget to stop by the CUB House to sign-up to be on a CUB committee, join the CUB Rewards Club or enter into the raffle to win a FREE trip for two to MTVu's Woodie Awards 2007!

As a traditional part of the annual Welcome Back Bash, CUB will host an outdoor volleyball tournament. Teams must consist of at least six but no more than ten players. Don't forget to sign your team up in Andrews Hall by 5 p.m. on Friday, August 31 to ensure your spot in the tournament. The first place team will receive a grand prize! And remember that you can receive a raffle ticket to be entered into the drawing for a FREE trip for two to MTVu's Woodie Awards 2007 just for participating in this tournament!

Welcome Back Bash: Comedian Pete Dominick

Since breaking into the college market in the fall of 2003, Pete Dominick has been in constant demand. Over the past six years, Pete has performed at almost 300 colleges. He made his network television debut in last year's season final of NBC's The Apprentice. Pete is also the warm up comedian for Comedy Central's The Colbert Report and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. If you don't listen to this funny guy during his daily live show Comedy Request with Pete Dominick on Sirius Satellite, come out to catch him in the act this evening!
