McDonough Receives Grant to
Study Nonprofit Organizations

The McDonough Center received a $38,000 grant from the Sisters of St. Joseph Charitable Fund to conduct a year-long assessment of capacity needs of nonprofit organizations in the Mid-Ohio Valley. The purpose of the study is to determine the areas where local nonprofit organizations need to be strengthened. The study will conclude with a list of ways the needs of the local nonprofit organizations can be met. Both undergraduate and graduate students from Marietta College will assist in the study. McDonough is collaborating with the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University on this project. Indiana University is a national leader on nonprofit research and conducted a similar study on nonprofits. McDonough will assess nonprofit organizations in 11 surrounding counties. (More)
