NBS
The Marietta College chapter of the National Broadcasting Society (NBS)
was reactivated in the fall of 2000. NBS is the largest national student
organization for those interested in radio and television. Its history
dates back to 1943 and NBS has chapters on campuses all across the country.
Since October 2000, Marietta students have attended regional conventions
in Chicago and Ada, Ohio, and a national convention in Atlanta to network
with broadcast professionals.
NBS members attend meetings locally, elect student officers, plan fundraising
efforts and community service project as part of their membership. In
addition, broadcasting students have the opportunity to enter both regional
and national competition in various areas of radio/TV performance and
production.
Students maintaining a high grade point average are eligible to join
the academic honorary within NBS, Alpha Epsilon Rho (AERho).
