Meeting Minutes

Present: Vickie Graham, Debbie Stodberg, Carla Scanlan, John Davis, Laura Little,  Dave Jeffery, Angela Burdiss, Connie Golden, Joe Sullivan

 

Absent: Dave Mader, Howard Korn, Jim Fry

 

Minutes from last meeting – one correction to dollar amount from Title III – changed from $200,000 to $150,000

 

Old Business

 

Interviewing student technicians will begin this week – training schedule for these students will be announced at a later date in April.

 

Laura and Angie attended the OHEC conference – discussion about Web Tutorials for common problems – conference was good and others should attend however there is an issue regarding lack of funds for faculty development

 

John Davis gave report on Datatel conference – Faculty will have greater access in the future to class roster/advisees/grades/transcripts – IT dept will be upgrading all machines on campus to XP in the next 2 years Netscape 4.0 or higher is needed to operate most programs. Discussion about how students presently register and changes that will happen with the Datatel changes.  Anyone else who is interested in learning how to register students with the new Datatel information should contact John and he will sit down and walk you through the program.  Good news is that WebCT is compatible

 

New Business

 

Summer online courses being offered.  WebCT playing a big part in the online courses.  Ohio Learning Network – shared hosting meeting is Friday March 26 at Kent State University – Laura will attend and get information – members would pay Kent for the hosting fee for WebCT on their machine – authentication/interfacing need to be considered.

 

Portal – still working on myMC – will bring in a student in May to work on portal
