Meeting Minutes

Minutes from last meeting – approved and accepted

 

Old Business

 

7 Student Technologists ready to be hired and trained.  Will be posting on TAG website additional information.- they will be trained on loading software in labs.  S.T.A.’s will be evaluated each semester and determination of who to keep from semester to semester.

 

Discussed summer on line courses  Four online courses will be offered in biology, economics, education, and leadership.

 

Discussed Webct hosting trip to Kent – VISTA and possibility of MC checking into using VISTA. Deadline for commitment to this grant project is April 15. The number of faculty members presently using WebCT is between 40-50. Selected faculty will preview VISTA to see if it would be worth the change from WebCT CE (our current CMS) to VISTA.

 

New Business

 

Office 2003 – discussed when campus would move to this – Vickie G. will give copy of 2003 to Dave Mader to test out.  Laura and Vickie have been testing it out.

 

Connie and Laura will attend Teaching and Learning Mentor’s Institute workshop at Otterbein July 28-30 and invite others to attend. Both have attended in the past and found it to be worthwhile. For more info http://www.cic/org/conferences_events/workshop/infotech/2004_mentors.asp

 

Washington State Community College Collaborative online showcase session  will be help week of May 3rd

 

Next Meeting TBA  This should be the last meeting this year unless other issues arise. Please let Laura know when/if you’re going to be around this summer in case we need to have an ad hoc meeting.
