Web Browsers
The Marietta College site was developed and tested to support multiple web browsers and platforms.
In addition to recommending and supporting Firefox for both Windows and Macintosh systems, we support:
- Internet Explorer 6.0 and later for PCs
- Safari 1.3 and later for Macs
We encourage visitors to upgrade to at least these versions.
Please Note: In June 2003, Microsoft announced that it would no longer develop a version
of Internet Explorer for Macs. Mac users are encouraged to consider adopting
either Firefox or Safari.
Web Space and Email Accounts on Marietta.edu
Every student, faculty and staff member has an HTML folder that is accessible via the community member's email login and password. E.g., if your email address is abc001@marietta.edu, your personal web site is www.marietta.edu/~abc001
Conversely, any campus organization or department with a web directory also has an email address. E.g., Web Services can be found at www.marietta.edu/~webadmin and can be contacted at webadmin@marietta.edu.
Campus organizations—especially student clubs and groups—are encouraged to use their directory email address as a primary contact instead of using a member's personal email account. This eliminates the need to update contact information due to member turnover.
