Investigative Studies Program
How would you like to spend a whole summer working on a project of your own? And how would you like get paid to do it? With Marietta's Investigative Studies Program, you'll have the opportunity to design and propose a project for your particular interest and then spend the summer working with a faculty mentor to carry it out. Students have worked on everything from lighting designs for a production of Shakespeare's Tempest to chaos theory to local economic export patterns.
Marietta students participating in the program regularly present their work at conferences all over the country and abroad, including the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR); American Choral Directors Association; International Leadership Conference in Guadalajara, Mexico; and the International Academy of Business Disciplines.
Each year, Marietta hosts an Investigative Studies Symposium, providing you with the chance to present your research to the Marietta community.
Scholarship Opportunities
The Investigative Studies Summer Grant Program offers qualified students in any discipline a $1,500 grant plus free on-campus housing for six weeks in May and June.
The Student Travel Grant Program provides competitive awards of up to $500 per student per project for students presenting their projects at academic conferences.
