Other Undergraduate Research Opportunities


The 16th Latin American Studies Symposium at Birmingham-Southern College has posted its call for papers. The BSC Latin American Studies Program invites proposals for the 16th Annual LAS Symposium hosted by the Birmingham-Southern College on March 14-15, 2008. This interdisciplinary conference aims to promote undergraduate research focused on Latin America. All topics pertaining to Latin America are welcome. The presentations should be 15 minutes in length. We encourage proposals of panels and invite faculty members to serve as panel chairs and discussants. Papers in English, Spanish and Portuguese will be considered. Registration: All participants have to register for the conference. The registration fee is $20.00. NCUR 2008 Call for Applications and Abstracts: The 22nd annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research will be held at Salisbury University, Salisbury, Maryland, from April 10-12, 2008. NCUR is now accepting abstracts for work in traditional research, creative projects, and performance arts. Refer to the link above for the call and visit the Conference Web site for more information. Deadline for applications and abstracts is December 1, 2007.

CUR Posters on the Hill: In honor of International Polar Year, the Council on Undergraduate Research would like to encourage the submission of research abstracts for Posters on the Hill that involve polar research. Posters on the Hill abstracts for the 2008 Posters on the Hill will be accepted starting September 3, 2007, are due by 5pm Eastern Standard Time on Thursday, November 15, 2007. Posters on the Hill will be held in Washington, D.C in April, 2008.
