Performance Space

The Art Department regularly exhibits student work. Galleries available for use include the Hermann Fine Arts Center (third floor and second floor mezzanine), the McDonough Center (third floor), and the Andrews Hall Great Room.

The Music Department provides a wide range of performance opportunities for students. Vocal Ensembles consist of Oratorio Chorus, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Men’s Ensemble, Women's Choir, and Music Theater. Instrumental Ensembles include Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Jazz, Band, Brass Ensemble, Woodwind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and Music Theater Orchestra. The College’s choirs and instrumental ensembles have quickly gained exceptional reputations. The Concert Choir tours regularly to major cities in the United States, Europe, and Asia with destinations selected for their educational as well as performance benefits.

The space allocated for the choir and band includes one large shared rehearsal room, four smaller piano practice rooms, one teaching studio with a piano, a digital piano lab, and a classroom with a piano. Students may access the practice rooms during the evening and weekend hours; one room is unlocked and available to all students on campus while the others are restricted to students enrolled in applied study or members of the performing ensembles. Performance space includes the McDonough Auditorium and Ban Johnson Arena’s performance court and field house expansion. Additionally, students hold readings and musical presentations at Izzy's Café, the Campus Writing Center, and the Arts and Humanities House.
