Campus Writing Center

Marietta College's Campus Writing Center provides a collaborative, supportive, and instructional environment where students work closely with peer tutors to strengthen their college-level writing skills. We are committed to fostering growth and understanding in the writer, not just in the paper.

The Campus Writing Center is a place of learning, and is open to all students, faculty, and staff of Marietta College who desire to improve their writing confidence and self-editing skills. Writers seeking help with the conception, research, drafting, or revising stages of their paper are welcome.

Our Tutors

The writing center is staffed with 15 undergraduate tutors who major in a diverse range of subjects (art, athletic training, biology, biochemistry, business, communication, education, English, geology, history, international leadership, political science and Spanish). Students are encouraged to work with a tutor in their subject area, especially for upper-level assignments. Our tutors are not professional editors. Their role is to help students work through some of the major weaknesses in their writing
