Campus Writing Center

Tutor Information

Students who work in the Campus Writing Center are dedicated individuals who continually seek ways to develop their tutoring skills and practice. They perceive their work as something more than a simple work-study job. Their committment and desire to help others is reflected in their personal and academic achievements. Since the teaching of writing is a discipline that requires constant reflection between theory and practice, Campus Writing Center tutors are required to participate in tutor-training workshops.

Workshops are held most Fridays, from 3-4 p.m., in the Campus Writing Center. Readings for upcoming workshops will periodically be placed in your Campus Writing Center mailbox. You are expected to read the article before the workshop meeting.

A component of the Campus Writing Center Workshop is the inclusion of digital video editing equipment. All tutors will use the equipment to record one of their own tutoring sessions for analysis and self-reflection.

1-9 p.m., Mon.-Thurs.
