Mr. Bohnen, who has more than 11 years of experience in higher education fundraising, joined Marietta College in July of 2007. He directs the major gifts area of Advancement.

Prior to joining Marietta College, Bohnen was the Director of Advancement at Radford (Va.) University since 2005. In addition to his work at Radford, he served as the Director of Development in both the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at Virginia Tech and at Minnesota State University. He also worked as a quality control manager for Silgan Containers, a Fortune 500 manufacturing company.

During his time at Radford, he helped develop a plan that prepared the university for a $100 million comprehensive campaign—which was double the size of the campaign conducted the previous year. While at Virginia Tech, Bohnen reorganized the college’s volunteer councils to encourage greater participation and representation from alumni and friends. At Minnesota State, under his direction, the college’s historical baseline support jumped from $94,000 annually to more than $500,000 annually.

Bohnen attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Communication. He is an active member of the National Committee on Planned Giving and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

Evan and his wife, Tonia, have twin sons, Alex and Grant.
