Associate Professor elected to Central Ohio PRSA board of directors
Marietta College’s Dr. Jane Dailey, Associate Professor of Media Studies, has been elected to serve on the 2013 board of directors of the Central Ohio chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
The chapter serves more than 360 public relations professionals across the Central Ohio region who work in the corporate, government, agency and nonprofit sectors.
In addition to regular board duties, Dailey also serves as board liaison to the New Pros committee, which plans events and activities for members who are in the first few years of their public relations career. Dailey has been a member of the Central Ohio PRSA for 18 years.
“Serving on the board is a tremendous opportunity for me to take on a significant leadership role in the organization,” Dailey said. “The board leaders reached out to me last fall about serving on the board in hopes of having expertise and representation from higher education. I look forward to my participation and the opportunity to strengthen my professional connections in the Central Ohio region.”
Founded in 1950, the chapter’s mission is to advance the public relations profession by promoting the highest standards of professional practice through professional development and member involvement. The chapter regularly hosts luncheons, events and webinars to help members remain current and prepared to manage today’s organizational communication challenges. The 16-member board and leadership team meets each month in Columbus to discuss and plan chapter business.
Dailey has been teaching public relations at Marietta College since 2007. Prior to this, she worked as a public relations practitioner in the environmental industry. Dailey is the faculty adviser for the Marietta chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America. She received her Accreditation in Public Relations from the Universal Accreditation Board in 2000.
