College adds Associate Director of Major Gifts to Advancement team

 Janet Weirick, who has more than a decade of higher education experience, has been named Associate Director of Major Gifts in Marietta College's Office of Advancement.

Weirick, who spent three years as the Associate Director of Development at Manchester College in Indiana, began at MC on July 1. At Manchester, her responsibilities included establishing relationships with donors and potential donors to meet fundraising goals. She is also a certified fund raising manager.

Weirick will concentrate upon the solicitation of gifts in support of such priorities as the library and learning resource center, McDonough Leadership Program and Marietta College endowment.

"This is an exciting time to be at Marietta College," Weirick said. "With such sustained progress and momentum, there's a world of opportunity to accomplish great things."

A seasoned administrator, Weirick has a broad range of higher education experience including most recently supervision of admissions and financial aid at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana.

Weirick completed her qualifying exams to become a Ph.D. candidate in higher education leadership at Indiana State University, and she anticipates completing her dissertation by next year. She owns a master's degree in liberal studies from Indiana University-South Bend and bachelor's degree in sociology from Manchester.
