College announces new Director of Multicultural Affairs

Anthony Jones, who has experience working with college-bound students in admissions, was recently named the Director of Multicultural Affairs at Marietta College.

Jones, a graduate of Mount Union College, believes he has a broad understanding to help guide students who pursue a collegiate career.

“I am excited to introduce myself as the new Director of Multicultural Affairs for Marietta College,” Jones said. “As someone who has worked in college admission for a number of years, I bring a passion and a commitment to working with American minority students throughout their college process.”

His experience includes being a coordinator for multicultural recruitment, an assistant director and also resident director at Mount Union from 2007-09.

“In all of the positions I have held, my goal was not to only help students become enrolled in college but to help mentor and guide students through a successful college career,” Jones said. “I look forward to continuing an even greater level of success here at Marietta College.”

As a first generation multicultural college student, Jones understands the significance of potential and maximizing that potential to better one’s future. He hopes to be a strong connection between the college and students through this new position.

“I look forward to meeting and interacting with students, parents, faculty, and staff, and our alumni,” Jones said.  “This position with Marietta College can be the building block that broadens many horizons for students, faculty and staff, and community members alike.”
