College announces promotions in Office of Admission

After 14 years of dedicated service to Marietta College, Scott McVicar ’87 was recently promoted to Director of Admission. Also promoted was Nancy Huffman to International Admission Coordinator.

McVicar had been serving as the Interim Director since June, and prior to that was an Associate Director of Admission. Huffman was an administrative assistant.

Marietta College’s Vice President for Enrollment Ron Patterson made the announcement to campus.

“Scott has expertise in admissions and recruitment, and I am excited to see how he works with the team in place to build on our recruiting strategies,” Patterson said. “Nancy is also a valued member of Admission and I am confident she will make a seamless transition and be our point of contact and will guide our international students through the admission process.”

McVicar’s responsibilities include planning, organizing, directing and overseeing a nine-person staff. He will also administer the admission policies, assist in the development of publications, serve on appropriate committees and counsel students as needed.

McVicar earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management and a Master of Arts in Education from Marietta College.

Huffman will work with to communicate with the College’s international sponsors that all necessary admission requirements are met and documentation is complete before the enrollment of any students.
