Following a national search, Stephen A. Lazowski has been selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants to serve as the Vice President for Enrollment Management at Marietta College.

“Stephen is a proven talent, who has the experience we need and will be an innovative leader as Marietta continues to enhance its enrollment function,” Ruud said. “He will be a strong addition to our leadership team and campus community. We are excited to welcome Stephen and his family to campus. Everyone on our enrollment team, as well as the entire campus, look forward to working with Stephen on the many opportunities that lie ahead for Marietta College.”
Lazowski has nearly 15 years of experience in higher education, and most recently spent the past 17 months at Thiel. Prior to that he served as the Vice President for Enrollment Management at Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. He also worked in a variety of admission roles at Georgia College and State University, as well as Baldwin Wallace University. He consistently exceeded enrollment and application goals at each of his previous institutions.
“I am flattered to be the College’s choice for the next Vice President for Enrollment Management and it is an honor to be on President Ruud’s leadership team,” Lazowski said. “The decision to join the Marietta College family became an easy one as I saw the passion for the College by everyone I encountered during the search process. It also became very clear that Marietta College is on the rise under President Ruud’s leadership, and helping the College’s enrollment team reach and exceed goals is something I’m excited to be a part of now and in the future.
“Along with President Ruud’s energy and drive, I look forward to leading Marietta’s efforts to recruit and retain talented students from local, regional, national and international communities,” Lazowski added. “Prospective students will quickly realize what a wonderful institution Marietta is, and want to be a part of an amazing contemporary, liberal arts college.”
Lazowski has a Bachelor of Arts in liberal studies and history from Saint Xavier University in Chicago and a Master of Educational Technology from Boise State University in Boise, Idaho.
Lazowski’s wife, Elizabeth, and son, Andrew, are thrilled to be a part of Marietta College and local community.
Lazowski replaces Tom Weede, who served as the Interim Vice President for Enrollment for the past year. “I have always admired the work Tom has done in enrollment from his years at Warren Wilson College and huge successes at Butler University. He has done a great job and I’m grateful for his hard work and dedication to putting the College in a position for future enrollment successes,” Lazowski said.
