Coshocton native chosen new Marietta College Student Senate VP

Marietta College senior Melissa Jones, a senior majoring in political science and communication, was recently chosen Student Senate Vice President after a special election.

The Coshocton native replaces junior Michael Joliat, who became president in November following an automobile accident that claimed the life of junior Michael Conte during the College’s Thanksgiving break.

Jones, the daughter of Richard and Diane Jones of Coshocton, was already a member of Student Senate serving as parliamentarian and senior representative. Jones is involved in numerous groups on campus, including Omicron Delta Kappa, Pi Sigma Alpha, Gamma Sigma Alpha, Chi Omega, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Parliamentary Union and Model UN.
