Marietta announces international photo contest winners

The Office of International Programs (OIP) announced winners for international photography contest, which was a component of Marietta College's International Week 2007.

Tyler Snell '07 of Newport, Ohio, was awarded first place in the Place category for a photo titled "Volcano Sunset" taken in La Fortuna, Costa Rica. Snell also took the top prize in the People's Choice Category for a photo titled "Lost" taken in Monte Verde, Costa Rica.

Christina Rizk '10 of Cairo, Egypt, was awarded first place in the People Category for a photo titled "Man on the Mountain" taken in Mount Sinai, Egypt.

Dr. David Jeffery, an assistant professor in geology, was awarded first place in the Cultural Artifacts and Miscellaneous Category for a photo titled "Peering into the Past: The Rosetta Stone" taken in London, England.

Todd Roeth, an assistant professor in art, was awarded first place in the People's Choice Category for a photo tilted "Louvre Museum" taken in Paris, France.

Faculty, students, and staff submitted more than 140 photos in the international photography contest this year. The judges were Donna Bentley, Karrie Clay, Dr. Richard Danford, Frank Diller, Dr. Debbie Egolf, Dr. Bev Hogue, Nancy Huffman, Dr. Mabry O'Donnell, Michelle Pachuta, Tom Perry, Dr. Janie Rees-Miller, Linda See and Ryan Zundell. About 150 of Marietta's students, faculty and staff cast one ballot for the People's choice award.
