Marietta College today announced its December 2016 schedule of public events. Unless otherwise noted, admission to these events is free.

12:00 p.m., December 2 — Three Marietta College students will make presentations on their Summer Research Internship Experiences during the Physics Colloquium in Rickey 166.

7:00 p.m., December 4 — The 90th performance of Handel’s Messiah will be at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption.

7:00 p.m., December 8 — Prepare for the holiday season by heading over to the Anderson Hancock Planetarium for “Season of Light,” which traces the history and development of numerous holiday traditions, including the Yule log, mistletoe and the Christmas tree.

4:00 p.m., December 10 — The Edward E. MacTaggart Department of Music is hosting the 12th annual Merry TubaChristmas program in the Alma McDonough Auditorium.

8:00 p.m., December 10 — The 2016 President’s Choice Awards is an opportunity for students and employees to show off their talents in front of a packed house at Fenton Court.

7:00 p.m., December 11 — The eighth annual Christmas with the Concert Choir and Orchestra is at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption. Joining the College students will be the Children’s Choir.

7:00 p.m., December 15 — Prepare for the holiday season by heading over to the Anderson Hancock Planetarium for “Season of Light,” which traces the history and development of numerous holiday traditions, including the Yule log, mistletoe and the Christmas tree.

2:00 p.m., December 18 — The third showing of the month of “Season of Light,” at the Anderson Hancock Planetarium. There will also be another showing this day at 3:30 p.m.
