Marietta recognized by College Factual as one of the best in nation

It’s no secret that Marietta College offers students a top-notch liberal arts education, plenty of experiential learning opportunities and close relationships with faculty and staff.

This month, College Factual added hard numbers that back up the quality education students receive at Marietta through its annual ranking system.

Marietta was selected 413th out of 1,387 in an overall ranking of the Best Nationwide Colleges, and 16th out of 58 in the state for the Best Ohio Colleges. It is ranked 308th out of 1,208 of the Best Nationwide Colleges for Your Money.

College Factual’s ranking system is based on a series of algorithms that include information from the Department of Education, nationally mandated data reporting for institutions and Payscale.com.

Specific programs at the College also retained distinction. Marietta ranks in the top 1 percent for Highest Paid Graduates in Engineering, as well as in the top 5 percent for Most Focused in Geological & Earth Studies and Petroleum Engineering, and Best Value in Engineering. Additional fields that received noteworthy marks included Biochemistry, Marketing, Communication, Journalism, Public Relations and Advertising.

Overall, Marietta received 16 “Badges” that highlighted attributes ranging from Best Value and Most Focused to Highest Paid Graduates. Within those rankings, Marietta earned one Top 1 percent spot, four Top 5 percent spots, six Top 10 percent spots and five Top 15 percent spots.
