OIP conducting International Photo contest in April

As a component of Marietta College's International Week 2007, the Office of International Programs (OIP) is excited to present the third annual international photography contest, which is open to all Marietta students, staff members, and current or retired faculty members.

The photos will be displayed in Thomas Hall during International Week, which is April 16-20.

All photos must be original work of the contestant and have been taken outside the United States within the last 10 years. Photos may not be mounted, framed or digitally enhanced. Photo submissions should be a minimum of 5-inches-by-7 and a maximum of 8-by-10. Slightly larger variations will also be accepted, but please check with the staff in International Programs. The OIP is not responsible for photos that are damaged or lost, and it suggests submitting a copy of your photo or making sure you have a negative available for safekeeping.

The International Photography Contest entry form along with up to five photos must be handed in at Thomas Hall 214 no later than 5 pm Monday, April 9.

A panel of judges will determine the best in three categories: people, place and cultural artifact/miscellaneous. In addition, Marietta students, faculty and staff may cast one ballot for the people's choice award. Contest winners will be announced and awarded prizes during the International Theme Dinner at Gilman Dining Hall on Friday, April 20.
