The lull of summer break has come to a close and campus has once again become a bustling place with students and faculty ready for another great academic year.

Throughout the day, students stopped into the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center for Pioneer Connect to have their schedules verified, obtain parking permits, learn about resources such as Education Abroad and the Academic Resource Center, and to have their yearbook photos taken.

For Dallas Montag ’17 (Belmont, Ohio), Monday will be her last Pioneer Connect Day.

“I am so excited to be back,” she said. “Mostly, I’m excited to see my friends, but also to be able to experience my final year here at Marietta.”

Montag will pursue dentistry school after earning her degree in Biochemistry this spring.

Jaret McCutcheon ’20 (Waterford, Ohio) had just finished his first class as a full-time Marietta College student before heading to the DBRC.

“I had a Psychology class at 9 a.m.,” he said, adding that he has enjoyed his Marietta College experience so far. “I’m looking forward to this year and to getting good grades.”

Andrea Neutzling ’17 (Pomeroy, Ohio) is also excited for the coming year and already has her plans laid out after graduation.

“After graduation, I’m going to be a theatre teacher for the Southern Local School District,” she said. “I’m also looking at MFA programs for script writing.”
