Dyson Baudo Recreation
Center
In 2003, the Dyson Baudo Recreation
Center (DBRC) opened on the Marietta College campus. The five-year,
19 million-dollar project established a wellness facility
to host varsity, intramural and personal athletic activities
in the renovated 54,000 square-foot Ban Johnson Arena and
a newly constructed 84,000 square-foot fieldhouse. The DBRC
contains an indoor track that encircles four multipurpose
courts, a crew training facility, a fitness center, two racquetball
courts, a wheelchair-accessible weight room, a multipurpose
room and a two-story climbing wall.

The multipurpose room hosts small classes, including
yoga and cardio-kickboxing during the semester.
The MC dance and cheerleading squads also use the room for practice space. |

| Indoor Track and Multipurpose Courts |
|
 |
 |
Varsity athletes and recreational walkers
travel countless miles on the six-lane, two-hundred meter
indoor track, which also hosts local meets and the Ohio
Athletic Conference Indoor Track Championships with events
such as the high jump, shot put and triple jump.
The track
encircles four multipurpose courts that can be configured
for a variety of activities, including basketball, soccer,
tennis and volleyball. In addition to hosting intramural
leagues, the courts are also used by varsity teams for
indoor practices with amenities such as batting cages. |

A wheelchair-accessible weight room features numerous
benches and tons of weight to provide a complete workout.
Upstairs, the cardiovascular workout room offers
a good view of the DBRC fieldhouse and hosts a variety
of weight machines and more than twenty pieces of cardio
equipment, including treadmills, elliptical machines,
Stairmasters and stationary bikes. |

| Climbing Wall |
|
 |
A two-story climbing wall, staffed by certified students, runs perpendicular to the weight and workout rooms, providing an alternative to a traditional workout routine. |

Crew Training Facility |
 |
 |
Two racquetball courts host intramural tournaments,
including semester-long competitive and recreational challenge
ladders and special events such as wallyball. Courts are
also available for regular matches between members of
the Marietta College community.
Visit the DBRC Welcome
Desk to reserve a court, sign up for a tournament or check
out equipment. |
More than twenty ergometer machines fill the crew training
facility for the men's and women's teams to
prepare for their grueling spring semester schedule.
The
DBRC also hosts the Ohio Valley Indoor Rowing Championships
every February.
