Sidick's tabbed OAC Player of the Week for second time this season
Nov. 1, 2004
TWINSBURG, Ohio - The Ohio Athletic Conference announced today (Nov. 1) that Marietta College senior Chris Sidick (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan) was named the OAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week.
Sidick, who's performance against Otterbein in week four earned him OAC special teams player of the week, played tricks on the Wilmington Quakers from the offensive side of the ball in week eight.
The senior scored three touchdowns in the Pioneers' 48-7 win over Wilmington Saturday, the first to do so since Steven Wagner in week one of 2003.
Sidick and Wagner became the first duo to eclipse the century mark in the same game since 1989 when MC had three players do it in one contest.
He pulled in an 11-yard catch and had touchdown runs of 75 and 8 yards. He also had one kickoff return for 37 yards.
Sidick, who also plays inside linebacker in addition to receiver, needs just three kickoff returns to become the NCAA DIII all-time kickoff return leader with 105. He is also six yards shy of becoming the NCAA DIII all-time kickoff return yards leader.
Marietta will look for its third straight and sixth win of the season Saturday (Nov. 6) when it hosts Baldwin-Wallace at 1:30 p.m.
