Glaser named OAC Coach-of-the-Year
Nov. 22, 2004
TWINSBURG, Ohio - The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) football special awards, as voted on by the league coaches, were released this morning (Nov. 22), and Marietta College Head Coach Todd Glaser was honored by his colleagues with the Coach-of-the-Year award.
Glaser, in his second year at the helm of the Pioneer program, led the Navy Blue & White to a 6-4 mark in 2004. This fall was Marietta's first winning season since 1998, when it also finished 6-4.
Glaser becomes just the second Pioneer head coach to be named OAC Coach-of-the-Year, joining Gene Epley who took home the honor in 1995.
Prior to taking over at Marietta in the spring of 2003, coach Glaser spent four seasons as the defensive coordinator at Wisconsin-Eau Claire, a highly competitive program in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Since Glaser and his staff came to campus they have worked tirelessly to instill the tradition back in Pioneer football.
"Any time you are recognized by your peers it is a special award," said Debbie Lazorik, Director of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation, in regards to Glaser winning the award. "This
award is not only a tribute to Todd and his coaching and leadership, but
it recognizes the total program; the hard work of our assistant coaches
and of course the hard work and commitment of our players."
Marietta won three of its last four games to secure the winning record and finished fifth in the Conference. Seven Pioneers received All-OAC recognition for their efforts in 2004. |
