Marietta's Hines named second team All-OAC

TWINSBURG, Ohio - The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) announced its men's basketball All-OAC teams this afternoon (Mar. 1), and the league coaches voted Marietta College's Matt Hines (Waverly/Eastern Pike) second team All-Conference.
Hines, one of 21 athletes selected, received All-OAC recognition for the fourth-straight year; he was named honorable mention All-OAC in each of his first three seasons.
The Senior averaged a team-high 16.0 points and 5.1 rebounds per game this season. He scored a career-high 31 points at Heidelberg (Dec. 4), a game in which the two teams combined to score an OAC record 156 points. Hines finished in double figures in 22-of-25 games and then the team in scoring on nine occasions.
Hines finished his career with 1,430 points, which ranks him seventh all-time at Marietta College. He also added 563 rebounds as a member of the Pioneers.
As a team, the Pioneers set new OAC records in three-point shooting, finishing the year 358-of-1,174; both the three-point attempts and made are Conference records. Marietta also set the single-season school record for points per game (98.4), steals (304), field goals (853) and field goals attempted (2,183). |
