MC's Collier earns Academic All-OAC honors

TWINSBURG, Ohio - The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) announced its 2005 men’s basketball Academic All-OAC winners Tuesday (Mar. 8). Senior Jason Collier (Parma/Normandy) was the lone Marietta representative on the list, receiving honorable mention honors.

Collier, an accounting major with a 3.71 GPA, picked up the honor for the first time in his career as a member of the Pioneers. Collier saw action in 20 games, compiling 36 total rebounds and averaging 1.4 points per game in 2005.

As a team, the Pioneers set new OAC records in three-point shooting, finishing the year 358-of-1,174; both the three-point attempts and made are Conference records. Marietta also set the single-season school record for points per game (98.4), steals (304), field goals (853) and field goals attempted (2,183).

Senior Jason Collier was named honorable mention Academic All-OAC in 2005.
