Evangelos Tsourtsoulas carries Olympic Torch

Aug. 20, 2004
ATHENS, GREECE - Marietta College sophomore Evan Tsourtsoulas (Kastoria, Greece) had a memorable freshman season as a member of the Dad Vail Gold Medal winning Freshmen Eight squad this past spring, but that experience was nothing compared the opportunity he had while at home this summer.

Earlier this summer, Tsourtsoulas had the honor of carrying the Olympic Flame through his home town of Kastoria, as it made its way to Athens for the Opening Ceremonies of the 2004 Olympic Games.

Tsourtsoulas was a member of the 2003 Greek Junior National Rowing Team. He rowed in the Men's Four with/ Coxswain race at the 2003 Junior World Championships, also held in Greece.
