Fall racing league continues with fourth race

MARIETTA, Ohio - The fourth race of the 10th annual Fall Pairs Racing League was held Wednesday (Oct. 13) on the water of the Muskingum. The weather for racing included scattered rain, a slow current and some wakes.
Chuck Gowdy (Egg Harbor, NJ/Holy Spirit) and Rob Johnson (Margate, NJ/Atlantic City) once again improved their time in route to a first place finish. The duo crossed the line in 40:35:00 and brought their points total to 53 through four races.
Sophomores Chuck Geyer (Springfield, VA/Washington) and Kyle Fitzgerald (Brigantine, NJ/Holy Spirit) teamed up to take second place in the race, crossing the finish in 40:37:00.
The race, an 11 kilometer stretch from the boat ramp to the House of Wines buoy and back to the boathouse, had a stroke cap of 18-20 strokes per minute.
The fifth installment of the Fall Pairs Racing League, which will conclude Saturday (Nov. 13) with the Falls Pair Championship, is scheduled for Saturday (Oct. 16).
