Men's rowing finishes 35th at Head of the Charles
Oct. 24, 2004
BOSTON, MA - On a busy weekend for the city of Boston, MA, the Marietta College men's rowing program finished 35th in the 40th annual Head of the Charles Regatta.
The Pioneer Navy was seeded 18th in the elite field racing for the Boston Globe Trophy Sunday afternoon.
Marietta crossed the line in 12:01.613 just behind Ohio State and Columbia. Cambridge University Boat Club took the trophy with a time of 10:43.026, while Dutch Rowing Federation took second place (10:46.310) and Princeton finished third (10:57.885).
"We rowed hard," said head coach John Bancheri. The good thing is that we get to race most of the same field next week at the Schuylkill and have a chance to redeem ourselves."
The Pioneers will get that opportunity in Philadelphia, PA on Saturday (Oct. 30) at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta.
