Three MC shells will race for Dad Vail gold later today

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Pioneer Navy will have the opportunity to bring three gold medals back to Marietta this afternoon (May 14), as the Heavyweight, Junior Varsity and Freshman/Novice Eights all advanced to the Grand Finals at the 67th annual Dad Vail Regatta on the Schuylkill River.

The Varsity Eight won its morning semifinal race, finishing with a time of 6:17.70. Temple, which placed second the heat with a time of 6:21.12, will join the Pioneers, as well as Minnesota, St. Joseph, Michigan and Florida Tech. The race is set to begin at 4:51 p.m.

The Varsity Eights sits from bow Kyle Fitzgerald, Matt Henwood, Karl Biermann, Evan Tsourtsoulas, Mark Dolson, Mike Ross, Rob Johnson, stroke Chuck Gowdy and coxswain Devin Ohman.

The Freshman/Novice Eight boat, which sits from bow Dan Schall, Matt Cascaddan, Peter Seymour, Tom Gray, Brent Wright, Justin Callaham, Alex DelSordo stroke David McIntire and coxswain Tim Rinehart, will row its final at 1:55 p.m.

The Pioneer Navy's Junior Varsity Eight, which includes bow Andy Coniglio, Eric Dowler, Chase Graham, Jon Carlon, Brent Keuch, Steve Wynne, Peter Lorenz, stroke Chuck Geyer and coxswain Joe Lincke, made it to thier 2:35 p.m. final by winning its opening heat Friday night.
