Coach Pucella makes Marietta debut at Sunday's Stonehurst Invitational

MARIETTA, Ohio - First-year head coach Chris Pucella will lead his Marietta men's rowing team into it first outside competition of the school year when the Pioneer Navy travels to the Stonehurst Capital Invitational Regatta Sunday (Oct. 9) in Rochester, NY.

The Stonehurst Invitational is raced on the Genesse River, one of the few north flowing rivers in the United States. The competition draws some of the top crews in the nation, as well as from Canada, each year.

The crews will compete in a thee-mile head race in the morning and then, based on the results, are paired for 1500 meter sprints in the afternoon. The Pioneers, a traditional participant in the event, are returning after a one-year hiatus.

The Marietta men have entered a Varsity Eight and Lightweight Four shell into the weekend's competition.
