Men's soccer ends season with 2-1 loss to Capital

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Marietta College men's soccer team closed out its season this afternoon with a 2-1 loss to Capital to finish the year 4-9-2 overall and 1-7-1 in the OAC.

The Pioneers found themselves down 1-0 in the fourth minute when Capital (8-10-2, 5-4 OAC) converted a penalty kick following a Marietta foul in the box.

The Crusaders added another goal in the 43rd minute before Marietta got on the board in the 75th minute.

Senior Marcos Vaca (Friendswood, TX) scored his fourth goal of the year and 18th of his career off an assist from freshman Josh Mains (Trafford, PA). The assist was Mains' second of the season.

Senior Adam Cervenka (Mentor) collected six saves in his final game with Marietta to bring his career total to 267 saves. He is also third all-time with 15 shutouts.
