Two Pioneers named All-OAC in men's soccer

TWINSBURG, Ohio - The Ohio Athletic Conference announced its 2004 men's soccer special awards and All-OAC teams this morning (Nov. 10). Seniors Marcos Vaca (Friendswood, TX) and Adam Cervenka (Mentor) both received recognition for their play during this season.

Vaca earned Second Team All-OAC honors for the third time in his career. He also received the award as a freshman and junior, while getting First Team All-OAC honors as a sophomore. He finished the year with four goals to bring his career total to 18. Vaca also finished his four years at Marietta with 13 assists, ranking him eighth all-time at MC.

Cervenka, selected All-OAC Honorable Mention, picked up his first career league honor. The goalkeeper collected 117 saves in 1,359 minutes this season. He finished the year with four shutouts, a 0.812 save percentage and a 1.79 goals against average. Cervenka closed his career with 267 saves. He is also third all-time at MC with 15 career shutouts.

The Pioneers finished the year with an overall record of 4-9-2, 1-7-1 in the OAC.
