| Carnegie Mellon blanks Marietta 2-0
Pioneers out shot 24-5 in loss

PITTSBURGH, PA – The Marietta College men's soccer team dropped its road opener Wednesday (Sept. 7), falling 2-0 to Carnegie Mellon (PA) in non conference action.
The Tartans (2-0), who finished last season ranked third in their region, collected two first half goals and out shot Marietta (1-2) 24-to-5 en route to the victory.
Brian Bugge (Stafford, VA/Colonial Forge) made eight saves, while allowing two goals in 59 minutes. Jordan Slavin (Parkersburg, WV/South) spelled Bugge miday through the first half and collected a pair of saves.
William Schlough put Carnegie Mellon on the board in the eighth minute when he scored off a rebound.
Schlough and teammate Daniel Brackley used a pair of headers to assist Jonathan Browne in the final goal of the evening. It came in the 25th minute.
Marietta will look to regroup before it heads back to Pennsylvania, this time for the Lions Challenge Tournamnet, hosted by Penn State-Altoona. The Pioneers will take on Juniata (PA) Saturday (Sept. 10) at 4 p.m. and the battle Albright (PA) Sunday (Sept. 11) at 1 p.m.
