| Pioneer men close out MC Soccer Classic with a 2-0 loss to Juniata
Vazquez and Sleyzak named to the All-Tournament Team

MARIETTA, Ohio - The Marietta College men's soccer team dropped to 0-2 following a 2-0 loss to Juniata (Pa.) Sunday (Sept. 3) in the consolation game of the 2006 Marietta Soccer Classic at Marietta Field.
The Pioneers, who out shot the Eagles (1-1) 6-5, were unable to cash in on their early scoring chances.
Juniata, meanwhile, got on the board in the 43rd minute when Andrew Steffan scored on an assist from teammate Chad Weller.
The Eagles added an insurance goal in the 63rd minute when Fred McNeal's shot bounced off a Pioneer player and into the back of the net.
Sophomores Tad Cochran (Westerville/Worthington Christian) and Steve Hagenau (Clearwater, Fla./Central Catholic) each spent a half tending goal. Cochran made two saves, while Hagenau had one.
Marietta sophomore defender Rob Vazquez (Euclid) and freshman forward Matt Sleyzak (Twinsburg) were named to the All-Tournament team for their efforts during the weekend.
