Three Pioneers named All-OAC in men's soccer
Adedapo earns first team honors in 2007

Nov. 13, 2007
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) released its 2007 men's soccer award winners Tuesday (Nov. 13) morning, and Head Coach Pat Holguin's Marietta College squad had three players earn league honors. Sophomore defender Delè Adedapo (Gahanna/Bexley) earned first team honors while senior midfielder Joel Nau (Marietta) and sophomore forward Kyle Muth (Twinsburg) received second team recognition.

Adedapo, who transferred from The Ohio State University this fall, made an immediate impact in his first year with the Pioneers. The defender tied for second on the team with four goals and added one assist to finish with nine points in 2007. Three of Adedapo's goals were game-winners, including a double overtime shot against John Carroll that secured Marietta's berth into the OAC Tournament. A member of the Penn State-Altoona All-Tournament team, he is the fourth first team All-OAC honoree that Holguin has coached during his 10-year tenure with the men's team.

Nau, who was also a second team All-OAC selection in 2006, was a co-captain of this year's team. The midfielder finished with a pair of goals and one assist. He scored the game-winner in Marietta's 1-0 victory over Albright (Pa.) College in the first round of the Penn State-Altoona Challenge Cup. Nau was named to the All-Tournament Team at both the Marietta College Classic and PSU-Altoona Tournament.

Muth led the team in both goals with six and assists with four in 2007. The forward, who started nine of the team's 18 games, was often used as a spark off the bench. Muth scored four goals in the Pioneers' first three games, including two in Marietta's 5-1 win over Juniata (Pa.) College in the consolation game of the Marietta Classic, where he was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Marietta, who finished 8-8-2, earned just its second OAC Tournament berth in school history in 2007. The Pioneers went 4-4-1 in the OAC, winning their last three games to secure the spot in the six-team tournament.
