Capital defeats Marietta 7-2 in men's tennis
Perkins and Vincent wins singles matches

MARIETTA, Ohio — Marietta College fell 7-2 to visiting Capital University in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) men’s tennis action on Thursday (April 9) afternoon at the Beren Tennis Center.
The Crusaders improved to 2-10 overall and 2-2 in the OAC, while the Pioneers fell to 1-6, 0-5 in league play.
Capital took early momentum by winning all three doubles points. The Crusaders went on to win the top five singles points to wrap up the victory.
Marietta earned the final two points with three-set wins at fifth and sixth singles. Junior Clint Perkins (St. Marys, W.Va.) improved to 2-3 in singles action with a 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) win at fifth singles. Sophomore Sam Vincent (Parkersburg, W.Va.) climbed to 4-3 in singles with a 5-7, 5-3, 1-0 (10-4) win at sixth singles.
The Pioneers are back in action on Wednesday (April 15) afternoon when they visit Wilmington College. The match will begin at 3:30 p.m. |
