Marietta men fall 8-1 to visiting Notre Dame
Vincent improved to 5-3 in singles

MARIETTA, Ohio — Marietta College sophomore Sam Vincent (Parkersburg, W.Va.) had a thrilling three-set victory but the men's tennis team fell 8-1 to visiting non-conference foe Notre Dame College Thursday (April 16) at the Beren Tennis Center.
The Pioneers dropped to 1-7 on the year, while the Falcons moved to 5-9.
Vincent, playing sixth singles, lost the first set 7-6 after a 7-4 tiebreaker. He then evened the match with a 7-6 (7-5) victory in set two, sending the battle to a 10-point, third set. In that final set, Vincent won 10-8 to secure the point for Marietta and improve to 5-3 on the spring.
The Pioneers are back in action on Saturday (April 18) afternoon when they play host to Baldwin-Wallace College. he match will begin at 1 p.m. |
