Marietta closes the year with 6-3 loss to Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Ohio — The Marietta College men's tennis season came to an end on Sunday (April 26) afternoon following a 6-3 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) loss to host Wilmington College.
The Pioneers finished the year 1-11 overall and 0-9 in the OAC. The Quakers improved to 5-12, 1-8 in the OAC.
Marietta's first point of the match was won at third singles when junior Andrew Bolton (Timonium, Md./Calvert Hall) and sophomore Sam Vincent (Parkersburg, W.Va.) defeated their opponents 8-3.
Bolton then added a 6-4, 6-1 win at fifth singles, while sophomore Mike Carpenter (Parkersburg, W.Va.) also won 7-5, 6-3 at second singles to secure the Pioneers' second and third points of the match. |
