Richardsons and Humphrey shoot 16-under par to claim top prize in Pioneer Club fundraiser

MARIETTA, Ohio — For the second straight year, a large contingent of golfers blanketed the Marietta Country Club Monday (July 20) for the 24th annual Pioneer Golf Outing. 28 teams, featuring 111 golfers, took to the par-70 course for a day of golf, food and fun in order to raise money for the Pioneer Club.
Thanks to the Marietta Country Club, Dixie Sporting Goods and the Comfort Inn Marietta, as well as the various hole sponsors, all of the proceeds will go directly into the Pioneer Club fund for the third year in a row.
The foursome of Ben Richardson, Seth Richardson, Greg Richardson and Jim Humphrey finished 16-under par, good enough for the two-shot victory. Two teams tied at 14-under par. Shawn Taylor, Dan Leffingwell, Dan “Pops” Leffingwell and Scott Hollister captured second place on the tiebreaker, while Jan Hall, Tony Satterfield, Matt Dolan and Ed Wright finished third.
The individual highlight of the event came from Women’s Basketball Coach Jill Meiring, who scored a hole-in-one on the par-three eighth hole.
