Romick named OAC Player of the Week

Apr. 12, 2005
TWINSBURG, Ohio - The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) office announced this afternoon (Apr. 12) that Marietta sophomore Lindsey Romick (Hannibal/River) was named Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Apr. 3-10.

Romick tallied 12 hits, including four doubles and a pair of home runs in five Lady Pioneer wins last week. She added four RBI and scored 11 runs, while hitting .444 (12-for-27). The sophomore also pulled in Marietta's top defensive play of the year, when she robbed a three-run home run in Sunday's game one, 3-2, win over Ohio Northern. Romick later crushed a three-run homer of her own to account for all three Pioneers' runs in the game two, 3-1, victory.

Romick, who transferred from Division I James Madison in the fall, has made an immediate impact on the Lady Pioneers. Her versatility allows her to play both in the outfield and at shortstop.

Romick entered today hitting .375 (30-for-80) with a team-high 21 runs scored, 10 doubles, three home runs and 14 RBI. She is also 5-of-6 in stolen base attempts.
