Marietta' Quintana earns OAC's weekly honor for second time this spring
Junior went 5-0 this week for the tenth-ranked Pioneer softball team

MARIETTA, Ohio — For the second time in three weeks, Marietta College junior pitcher Kristen Quintana (Denver, Colo./Littleton) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Pitcher of the Week. The announcement came Monday (Apr. 3) from the league office.

The Pioneers (20-2, 4-0 OAC) are currently ranked 10th in the nation. Their 17-game win streak ended Sunday (Apr. 2) with an 8-3, eight-inning loss to Washington & Jefferson (Pa.). Mariettta finished 7-1 over the seven-day period.

Quintana went 5-0 last week with 43 strikeouts and allowed just five earned runs in 31.1 innings of work. With her 43 strikeouts on the week, Quintana now has 105 strikeouts on the year.

The 2005 All-OAC honoree is now 12-1 on the year. In 82.2 innings, Quintana has allowed just 10 earned runs on 49 hits and walked 15. Opponents are batting just .169 off the junior; her ERA is 0.85.

Marietta returns to action Tuesday (Apr. 4) when it plays host to Wilmington for an OAC doubleheader. First pitch at Marietta Field is slated for 3:30 p.m.
