Pioneer softball to host youth pitching clinic on January 28

MARIETTA, Ohio — Marietta College Softball is hosting its annual Pioneer Pitching Clinic on Sunday (Jan. 28) at the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center. [Register today (.pdf)]
A session for beginners in grades 4-8 is scheduled from 12:30-2:00. The intermediate/advanced session for grades 9-12 is scheduled from 2:30-4:00. Cost is $30 and includes a t-shirt. Megan MacKenzie, a member of the Canadian National Team and a graduate of Akron University will be the featured clinician. Marietta Assistant Coach Betsy Hada and current and former Pioneer players will also assist with the clinic.
MacKenzie has been a member of the Canadian National Team since 2004 and spent the last four years playing for the University of Akron. She earned All-Mid American Conference honors in 2005 and is currently serving on the coaching staff at AU. She has worked as an instructor and clinician at the West Coast Softball Academy in Surrey, British Columbia and more recently at Pinnacle Softball in Medina, OH.
