Marietta College softball enters NFCA Division III Poll at No. 16
Lady Pioneers now 14-2 on the year

MARIETTA, Ohio — The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released its fourth regular season Division III Top 25 Poll of the year Wednesday (March 28) afternoon, and the Marietta College softball team was voted No. 16.

The Lady Pioneers, who are now 14-2 after a sweep of host Wooster Tuesday (March 27), climbed as high as No. 10 in the poll last year.

St. Thomas (Minn.) (16-2) remained atop the poll, while Louisiana (17-4) fell from a tie for first to second. Ithaca (N.Y.) (11-3), Wisconsin-Eau Claire (12-4) and Linfield (Ore.) (14-2) round out the top five of the poll, which is voted on by eight head coaches representing the eight NCAA regions. Records are as of March 26.

Ohio Athletic Conference foes Mount Union (11-3) and Muskingum (12-6) were voted No. 8 and No. 20, respectively.

Marietta remains on the road this weekend. The Pioneers will visit Kenyon Friday (March 30) for a doubleheader at 4 p.m. and then open OAC play at Otterbein Saturday (March 31). First pitch of the twinbill with the Cardinals is slated for 1 p.m.
