MARIETTA, Ohio — The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released its fifth regular season Division III Top 25 Poll of the year Wednesday (Apr. 4) afternoon, and the Marietta College softball team climbed two spots to No. 14.

The Lady Pioneers, who are now 17-5 and 2-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference after getting swept by current No. 17 Muskingum Tuesday (Apr. 3), was No. 16 in the previous poll and climbed as high as No. 10 in last year's rankings.

The top five in the poll remained the same from last week. St. Thomas (Minn.) (20-2) sat atop with Louisiana (18-5), Ithaca (N.Y.) (14-4), Wis.-Eau Claire (12-4), and Linfield (Ore.) (20-4) maintaining second through fifth, respectively. OAC rival Mount Union (17-3), who has since split a twinbill with Capital, jumped from eighth to sixth in the poll.

The Lady Pioneers will look to regroup when they visit Ohio Northern Friday (Apr. 6) for a doubleheader at 3:30 p.m., before hosting Mount Union in a twinbill on Wednesday (Apr. 11) at 3:30 p.m.
